Part of a social media campaign to help raise awareness for Michael Thompson’s unjust prison sentence. Thompson was the longest serving, non-violent offender in Michigan’s history, incarcerated for selling 3 lbs of cannabis to a police informant in 1994.
Our animator worked closely with Kyle to storyboard, illustrate, and animate visuals to accompany audio from a phone interview with Thompson recorded while he was still in prison.
At the time of this project, he had served 25 of a 60-year sentence. Since then, Thompson has thankfully been granted a commutation and is now a free man.
